2012年10月6-7日的WAPC（木兰围场）的比赛对于所有的HAM来说都是难得的，因为这是木兰围场的第一届比赛，对于中国HAM来说更为难得，因为这是本国发起的第一个比赛的第一届，能够参与就很荣幸。试想一下——一位无线电爱好者一生能有几次这样的机会！
比赛的前一晚我们约好早上6点集合出发，所以晚上21点就打算睡觉，可能是有些兴奋一直到23点也没有睡着，夜里还醒来2次，真是太兴奋了！5点钟起来收拾妥当后下楼去找BG9RT，外面还是漫天繁星的夜色，看到BG9RT他已经开始往汽车里装东西了，但是重要的比赛软件任然没有弄好，耽误了30分钟的出发时间没有能让N1MM和电台联机，只能抓紧时间吃早饭了，此时曙光已经驱散了之前的夜色，我们向着爱伊河的设台地点出发了。
开始架设天线的时候发现GP天线下面那个接线座居然没有带，不过不用怕，因为几乎每次出来都会忘带东西，所以一些关键零件都已经做了备份，非常幸运我找到了备份的那个接线座，加上BG9NT带来的有没做头的馈线，5波段GP天线顺利架设了起来，接上电台后比赛已经开始了，频率上到处都有比赛的中国电台，非常热闹，于是赶紧在20米波段上圈块地使用BY9NX的呼号开始摆摊，刚刚主叫了大约3分钟就有大量的国内参赛电台回应，一度产生了堆叠几乎20秒一个QSO，通联数量快速递增，形势非常喜人，不过由于电脑没有和电台弄好，软件的比赛日志没法使用，只能写在纸质的日志上，电脑成了豪华的时钟，仅仅用来看时间！
没过多久就有好几位闻讯赶来的朋友给NT和RT帮忙架设其他的天线，接近中午的时候在陆续过来的HAM帮助下将12米军用接杆树立了起来，利用这个支杆架设了庞大的用平行馈线馈电的齐柏林天线，这个是给晚上40米和80米波段准备的。军用接杆非常结实固定好2层风绳后几乎可以顺着杆子爬上去！这个接杆要感谢BD5HSV，是他无偿送给我们使用的。
随着时间的推移大家都有些饿了，准备开始做饭，此时发现出发的时候竟然没有带上电炒锅！晕啊，RT急忙联系我们的“首席厨师——BG9QP同志”，最终当我们声嘶力竭两腿发软的时候QP出现了，为我们带来了烧鸡等凉菜，并且现场制作了一锅热汤面，激动的RT不知道是哭着还是笑着反正连火腿上的塑料纸都吃到肚里也浑然不知！这顿午饭晚饭一顿吃的大餐过后频率上也迎来了一次QSO的小高潮。
天色渐渐暗淡了下来，正当我们准备晚间照明的手电时，那条从来没有亮过灯的马路上居然路灯齐亮这使得夜间的活动方便了不少，换上齐柏林天线开始在80米和40米波段上工作，但是非常失望，40米上仅有屈指可数的几个电台在参加CQ WAPC的比赛，更多的是参加另外一个大洋洲的比赛，80米波段上干脆没有人索性利用难得的机会测试一下DP和GP接受同一信号是场强和底噪的区别，实际证明如果电磁环境好的话对于DX电台两者几乎没有区别。切换回20米波段后国内的比赛电台几乎没有了，但是有很多HAM在频率上QSO，BG9RT、BG9MHM分别在频率上与国内HAM进行了交流。
欣赏着爱伊河的夜色，或是品味普洱茶的醇香，或是与好友们饮酒聊天，那一刻大家都非常享受！NT拿着胡桃木的烟斗，带着耳机一边摆弄着K1一边享受着烟草，烟斗特有的味道加上爱伊河边清凉而湿润的空气让人沉醉其中，无以言表......
临晨时分秋夜里的爱伊河寒气逼人，大家都换上厚厚的衣服，没有打算过夜的朋友都已陆续回家，只留下我和RT，将设备以及发电机收拾妥当后RT上车睡觉，我把电台接上电瓶开始值夜班。旁边亲水大街上的车辆慢慢减少，后来几乎没有了，淡淡的薄雾笼罩了一切，那一刻仿佛世界都已睡去，唯有频率在我的指尖跳动着。
临晨4点半在40米波段上，耳机里传来了意大利电台的声音，3位意大利的HAM正在一起QSO，他们的时间是10月6日晚上21点多，正在享受周末的夜晚，用国内HAM的说法就是在开台网，期间听到他们偶尔CQ一下，邀请其他的电台加入，快速的应答了一下，马上收到了IV3UTV 马奥尼的邀请，听到来自中国的声音3位意大利朋友都很高兴，（这几位意大利HAM的信号都非常好其中尼古拉的信号达到了59+40dB，同样他给我的信号报告也是59 plus plus plus，QRZ上查询后得知他们都使用的是全尺寸的八木天线难怪信号如此强劲）分别又与尼古拉和瓦利进行了通联。完成这次美妙的欧亚台网QSO后时间已经快6点了，清晨是一天气温最低的时刻了，此时手脚已经冰凉难耐了，叫醒RT准备做点早饭吃，实际上RT也在车里快冻僵了，因为睡着后血液循环变缓，体温更低。烧好了开水我们先一人喝了一大杯顿时寒意散去了不少，一边煮着面条一般给RT讲述和意大利电台的故事，不知不觉中太阳已经升了起来，期间还在40米波段上和2个国内竞赛台QSO了一下。
时间走到了10月7日的8时整2012年我们参与的首届CQ WAPC 木兰围场的比赛结束了。带着满足感和一丝困意我们开始收拾装备准备离开，但是更加期待有更多的朋友热爱并且投身的这项运动中来！感谢给予我们无私帮助的每一位朋友！73！
