richard lester daniels of arlington, va passed away in his home at the age
of 79 in the presence of his family on february 14, 2012 after a brief fight
with lung cancer. he retired in 1994 after a 32 year career at nasa
headquarters in dc, where he held a number of senior management positions.
he was an active and dedicated member of the amateur radio organization
amsat. richard was born may 19, 1932 in cincinnati, ohio to the late robert
and martha daniels. he was preceded in death by his younger brother, david.
he is survived by his wife of 54 years, billie jacquelyn daniels; his
daughter and son-in-law, kathy and mike robinson; his son and
daughter-in-law, robert and susan daniels; his grandchildren, tyler and
lauren robinson, robby joe and chase daniels, jessica daniels rosen and her
husband, thomas knight rosen, amy daniels and her partner, joey harris; and
his great- grandson, mason harris. a memorial service followed by a
reception will be held at little falls presbyterian church on february 25,
2012 at 1 p.m., where he was a member for 48 years and served as an elder.
