ldg announces the z-817h
coming in june, the new z-817h will be available for those that want to use the ft-817 with the tokyo high power hl-45b or other external hf amplifierup to 100 watts. the tuner will be driven by the same 4 aa battery pack asthe z-817 and interface to the ft-817 acc port (sometimes called the catport) with the included cat cable. the standard z-817 will also be available.
new policy for included cables. this started in 2010 and will continue into 2011 to reduce the number of cables included with each tuner. starting this summer, the icom cable andcoax jumper will no longer be included. rising costs of cables have forced ldg to only include the minimal number of cables. every generic tuner willinclude a dc power cable and all radio specific tuners (like the it-100,kt-100 and yt-100) will include the necessary cables. interface cables will still be available to be purchased as a separate item.i'm not sure of the exact date of when the cables will be deleted from theboxes but i'll let you know as soon as i find out.
