i enjoyed good long runs into europe. i was most pleased by the good openings toasia both days. i've never worked so many bys in a contest before.

80: more ugh. never had a ja running opportunity, and did not work a by, which isunusual.

we decided to try 20m with similar results for another2 hrs. at about 2200z there was a great opening to asia with ja, 9m, zl, jt, durolling in with big signals. it was good to hear a half dozen or so by stationswho seemed to be having a lot of fun running the us.

last tune through 20 meters at the end of the contest, i found and worked by3mm at 2359z. right after the qso, the clock changed to 0000z, and the by operatorsaid qrt and was silent. that sure was close, but a nice way to end. :)

did work several ja's and b1 on 20, heard ah0 and 9m. was called by vu2pai on15 and 4s7ne on 20. those two are firsts.

the biggest surprise was when k3lr 80 meter team operator andy, n2nt worked b7pon 80 meters – bent path. the phased four square vertical array that we use atk3lr was n2nt’s idea, so it is only fitting that he had one of the best qsosever with that antenna. n2nt was on 20 meters at k3lr late sunday where heworked b7p (again) and they discussed the awesome 80 meter qso that occurredearlier.

one of the best openings to asia on 20 meters that we have seen in many years from here. the number of by stations during the finalhour on 20 meters was amazing, and they all were loud.

n8aa:
mostly s&p with delightful 15 meter propagation - some pacific but no ja/asia,however. did some runs on 15 meters on sunday. thrilled to work b1z on 20.

m0bjl:
second year as sosb 40m assisted, band seemed in better shape on the saturdaythan the sunday although signals from asia were definately better on the sunday with b1z audible very early in the afternoon. still a major struggle to breakthrough the super stations in mainland eu to nail the juicy mults but got theregradually.

40 qsos were made running on 15 meters, the other 520 qsos were all made s&p.best dx included b1z and 9m8z in the final hour. had lots of fun.

是呀，这次感觉噪声电平太高了，呼叫电台信号被噪声淹没了。也许应该在寻找更好电磁环境和选择天线上下点功夫。

这不是理由 我当然知道这是很痛苦的事，这radio是前人留下的产物，没想到今天会遇有这样烂的环境 但事实如此，我们后人就要从这方面结合本地的情况去克服它，思考它、做它、实现它、享受它。

尽管by的电磁环境大部分地方比较差，但是很多ham都用各种方法在扬长避短，哪个国家的都会有被骂deaf的，by被骂的肯定不算多（实际上倒是蛮多的）。对比一下vk，vk的环境比较好，但是从参加cqww的结果来看，人数上比by少，成绩差别不大，官方纪录也各有千秋，不知道是为什么。

deaf有天生和后天的之分

天生的好比地理环境的极端恶劣，你不搞个kw级，别想听到
后天的应该是技能问题，对于呼号的识别特别是外台呼号的识别还不够熟练【我目前就是这种后天的deaf】，但可以通过不断的dx积累来提高【自我感觉，如果dx不做到1000 qsos以上，估计被喊deaf的几率还有30%以上】

urey, while rx could be an issue with my fellow by hams, what i really mean is there are still too few of us. the good news, however, is that we are growing fast, as indicated by the comments of the other contesters, and we are proud of the seriously dedicated contest stations such as b1z and b7p.

how many vk hams are there? is there a closely connected contest community in your country? i worked only a few vks in last week's contest, which i guess is normal as vk is not a major ham population center. tell us more please.
