jw/f8dvd i will be active from the town of longyearbyen from 18 to 26 april 2009. it will be my 6th trip to spitsbergen island (last activities were in april 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007).
the activity will took place from the radio club of longyearbyen. that year, i am coming with my son victor , 16 years old, who has the call f0epl.
the activity will be mostly in phone and cw on 20 and 40 m.
in the past years, i was also active :
- from the scout radio club of houmt-souk, djerba island / tunisia (af 083) with call sign of club station 3v8sm on june-july 2003, and on august 2006.
- during the iota contest in july 2004 from noirmoutier island / atlantic coast(iota eu 064) with special call sign tm8n.
- during the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th antarctic activity week in february 2005,2006, 2007 and 2008 with special call sign tm8ant and during the 6th antarctic activity week in february 2009 with call tm8ice.
- in commemoration of the 4th international polar year in march 2007 and december 2008 with special call tm4ipy.
