ft-7800r is really a very good radio but the audio out from the built in speaker is pretty weak , absence of signal presence , thick & thin audio ,in other words too much high frequency response & lack or bass.
you will really miss that response on week signals and outdoors in mobile use.
i find out in the final audio amp stage that the audio out cap ( c1211 /220uf) is really insufficient to pass low frequency response so tried with 470uf and find a vital difference in audio quality that was not really before.
i have 2 replacement hints , one for professionals & one for beginners.
for professional: just find c1211 ( 220uf) close / next to audio out black jack on the chassis , unscrew the chassis and de sold 220uf & replace it with 470uf with same polarity.
for beginners: cut red color wire from the jack. find pin 4 of the icq1035 ( la4425 ) and sold positive leg of 470uf at the pin 4 of the ic & negative leg of the capacitor with red color wire connected with speaker.
remain black color wire in the jack & fix jack back to its seat
