on saturday may 10, 2008, the wheaton community radio amateurs (wcra) of wheaton, illinois u.s.a. will be hosting a special event amateur radio station for scouts and visitors attending the scout-o-rama (sor) of the three fires council of the boy scouts of america.
5000 scouts (ranging 6 yrs to 18 yrs in age), leaders and visitors are expected to visit the 120 demonstrations of scouting activities through the last century .
the theme is "a century of service". the wcra will host an interactive multi-transceiver radio station where scouts can get on the air with scouts worldwide. radio merit badge will also be offered.
