2xgi7b are the most popular design for medium power amplifier because it is cheap. plate voltage for gi7b is 2-2.2 kv. with 50w drive 600-650w power out for long life of the tubes.
the most important things are the learning path during the construction. however, pre-caution and safety procedures are essential because hv is lethal.
