the cities your nephew will visit are the largest in china. they are quite modernized in these few years. shanghai has some traditional buildings near the river side which are built quite some years ago, which may interest your nephew because you all have seen the old shanghai in movie.
dinning and food is quite different from what you can find at your local china town. some are very spicy. if they have time it is good to try out some real chinese food.
don't go to the bars or night club in the cities. many of them are small and unregulated. people there ususally do not speak any english.
