3y0x为了避让arrl cw contest，从明天开始将会集中火力在warc波段，也就是说他们开始收拾行李了，40米今晚是最后的机会，也是我留意他40米以来信号最响的一天，但可恶的雷达干扰把3y0x的信号盖住了，只能利用干扰停顿的短短时间叫几下，但还是徒劳，最后捡了个中美洲的fm，正样今晚才不致于吃白果，也亏ba4rf说白果美味呢。

白果没有吃到，睡觉前通了一个17m 7q7vb，很是容易，1st call。

treadmill cut into expedition 12 commander bill mcarthur's ham radio time
from na1ss. but when he did get on the radio february 13, he made excellent
use of the time remaining.

"only one contact," mcarthur reported. "3y0x! thanks!" the 2-meter contact
between the space station and the peter i island dxpedition

viable 2-degree pass. the 3y0x qso pushed mcarthur's count of dxcc entities
worked from space to 104. mcarthur already has worked all states and all
continents during his duty tour aboard the iss.

on the peter i island end of the contact was 3y0x dxpedition team member
gordon hardman, w0run. mcarthur, who's kc5acr, reports he and hardman
enjoyed "a brief, but nice chat."

because the amateur radio on the international space station (ariss) phase 2
gear is in crossband repeater mode for suitsat-1, mcarthur used the
lower-power phase 1 ericsson 2-meter gear for the contact. he reported good
copy on 3y0x, which was using its moonbounce equipment and array for the
event. the 3y0x team already was celebrating the nine moonbounce contacts it
had made over the previous weekend.

operating as rs0iss, mcarthur's crewmate valeri tokarev also got in a qso
this week with a russian member of the 3y0x dxpedition team.

topping the peter i web site i is the comment, "more people have flown in
outer space than have set foot on peter i island!" ariss ham radio project
engineer kenneth ransom, n5vho, notes that the 3y0x dxpedition is the first
to work someone in space from that location.

mcarthur earlier worked the 3y0x dxpedition team while it was still en route
and operating as xr9a/mm. previous tries at a 3y0x-na1ss contact were
unsuccessful, but ransom thinks a recent change in the space station's
orientation may have contributed to this week's success.

18 feb 2006      1530utc: this morning we've had clear blue skiess on the island. interestingly, on the ship it's windy and drizzling; apparently the mountain is, for now, keeping the weather on the island clear. the helicopter is flying and we've completely moved all the op b infrastructure aboard ship. other antennas are being taken down systematically as we continue to operate from op a.

we are working a plan to close down 3y豖 sometime on sunday and plan to be completely off the island sometime on monday and (hopefully) sailing for punta arenas on tuesday.

all of these plans are weather-dependent as you know; we'll keep you updated as we get closer to departure.

17 feb 2006      2300utc: today began as a beautiful one; calm, warmer, blue sky and fluffy clouds -- a perfect day to dismantle op b as was our plan. the afternoon, however, the wx became steadily worse; at one point, when taking down antennas for that operating position, we had periods of 45 knot winds; not pleasant!

but op b is now fully dismantled (shelter, equipment, supplies) and ready to airlift back to the ship. this phase will take eight to ten helicopter flights -- and we were able to get exactly none done today.

we've consolidated now into op a and are running now with six rigs and four-hour operating shifts. we're proud of the 76k+ qs in the log and are planning many more.

16 feb 2006      2355utc: as we don't want to interfere with this weekend's arrl cw contest, we've decided that we'll only work on the warc bands on ssb and rtty.

we are dismantling op shelter b and moving two stations into op a; our intent is to move the op b shelter and much equipment back abord the dap mares tomorrow.

tonight is our last night on eme; we've made a very gratifiying thirty qsos on moonbounce!

the wx forecast does not look good for early next week; it's already getting colder and more windy here now. if the weather situation turns out as expected, we may be shutting down operations on sunday; we'll have more information as we get closer to that date.

18 feb 2006 19000utc: the weather cleared sufficiently to offload even more of the "ready to go" gear -- and four team members! gary k9sg, carlos np4iw, wayne ku4v and robert sp5xvy are all safely aboard the ship. the rest of us are working in consolidating loads for the helicopter and trying to elevate the qso count even higher than the 81.9k qs uploaded as of 1400utc today.
even though gary k9sg (our team physician) is no longer on the island, we were able to persuade him to leave the defibrillator behind (just in case)!

our current best estimate for on-air qrt is 1200utc sunday feb 19

  to their web page the peter i team reported at 1900z, february 18th:

  what dxing is all about? congrats to john, w1bih, a veteran dxer, for
  working the 3y0x. "why" you say does john get a special mention in the
  opdx? john is 90 years old. he lives in a retirement community and sold
  his complete station last year when he moved. for john, peter one island
  is the last country john needs for dxcc, and he missed the last two peter
  one island dxpeditions. however, on thursday, february 9th, don, n1dg,
  picked up john and took him to his station. about thirty minutes later
  there was a big smile on john's face. you see, john has now worked his
  last country (335 current), and he can now get back on the top of the
  honor roll. "oh", by the way, peter i was his country number 390
  (including deletes)! wow!!!! since then, john has worked 3y豖 from his
  retirement community station on 20m cw with 100w and a g5rv strung from
