There is a new version of the firmware for the Juma PA-100D, v1.05m Build 3. Note: There is no version 1.05l - the letter ell (l) and the figure one (1) are nearly indistinguishable on the LCD, and so I avoid using this as a version designator.
This version of the firmware adds an auto-page increment feature to both the User Configuration and the System Calibration menus. It also rationalises the way the settings are saved. In previous versions of the firmware to save the User Configuration settings you had to press and hold the DISPLAY/CONFIG button to invoke the save settings prompt; to save the System Calibration settings on the other hand only required a brief press of the OPER button to invoke the same prompt. This inconsistency has now been removed. To save either setting, briefly press the OPER button, and the save settings prompt will appear, respond with either the BAND+ button to save the new settings or the PWR button to cancel.
To use the fast page switch feature, in either the User Configuration or the System Calibration menus, press and hold the DISPLAY/CONFIG button, and after a short delay you will hear a beep, continue to hold the button, and the pages will automatically change. Release the button when you have reached the desired page, and then alter the value/parameter in the usual way with the UP/DOWN buttons. The single page step by means of a brief press of the DISPLAY/CONFIG button is still available.
Since there are no EEPROM changes, this version can be safely loaded over a previous 1.05k version, but as with all firmware updates it is good practice to make a note of your calibration and configuration settings prior to performing the update. A suitable form for this is incorporated in the revised User Manual included with this update.
