i have said it before, but:
if the front-panel voltage display is off by more than 0.4
volts:---------------------------
it seems that you have already re-adjusted the internal voltmeter! how?
by accessing the "secret menu-pressing abc at power-on" without first
connecting the radio to a regulated 13.8 volt external power supply!
accessing
this menu improperly ruins radio calibration. the radio requires a precise,
13.8 volt external power source whenever accessing the "abc" menu, as
described
in the yaesu service/technical manual. (applies to all 3 radios)
un-informed tampering with this menu can cause all sorts of problems,
including receiver sensitivity changes, and final failure. it is not
intended to
be accessed by untrained/unequipped users. to attempt a repair/restoration,
connect radio to a precise, regulated 13.8 volt external power source, and
hold down the "abc" buttons while powering on.--you should hear a "diddle,
diddle, diddle" sound, then rotate the select knob to item #17-vcc, and
turn the
main tuning knob, if needed, to make the number shown on the display read
138. now press the "f" button to save the setting, and turn the radio off.
when
you turn the radio on again, voltage readout should be correct.
i hope this helps!--------73, kc3vo-bob curry
