there are two external power issues with the rino:
1. the rino gets very upset when you apply external power when the frs radio is on! it will "beep" and immediately power down, and it will not power back up until external power is removed!
2. the rino does something i had not seen other garmin gps's do, which is kind of cool, in a way: it will power the gps down if external power fails, unless you press a key within 30 seconds. below is a screen shot of the powerdown countdown.
