Hi all,
It may be useful to give everyone a brief update on the status of WSJT-X
1.4, release candidates rc1 and rc2.
First: There are essentially no program differences between rc1 and rc2.
The differences are in the way the packages were assembled.
According to statistics posted on PSK Reporter, nearly 400 copies of
v1.4 are already in use. We have received about 20 reports of issues of
some kind. As expected, most have to do with CAT control of specific
rigs, either directly or through HRD, Commander, or OmniRig.
A number of these have already been corrected by Bill, G4WJS, and he is
busy working on the rest. The resulting fixes will be included in the
next candidate release.
A few status notes on specific radios, slightly edited from Bill's notes
on wsjt-devel (the WSJT Developers list):
PowerSDR/SmartSDR in TS-2000 emulation mode was not working due to not
supporting the Kenwood "FB;" command, this has been resolved.
The FT-847 was not working - this has been resolved.
The IC-7100 was not working - this has been resolved.
The FTdx3000 was not working via HRD - this is being resolved.
The K3+P3 combination was failing intermittently - this appears to be a
P3 firmware defect that has been partially resolved in the latest P3
firmware.
Interfacing via DX Lab Suite Commander is not working reliably on
several rigs, notably anything like a TS-2000. (Bill is working with
Dave AA6YQ on this.)
Additional requests from Bill:
In general whenever anyone is having CAT problems we need to know the
rig and interface hardware and whether you are using Commander, HRD, or
OmniRig as an intermediary.
In the case of HRD, it is quite likely that the issue is with a rig we
have not yet been able to test. To aid rapid inclusion of new
rigs used with HRD, WSJT-X spits out a file with some information about
the controls available to us to drive the rig. This file is
"%APPDATA%\..\Local\WSJT-X\HRD Interface Information.txt". If you have
an issue when using HRD, please send Bill (
g4wjs@classdesign.com) a copy
of this file as a first step. With this file available, he can usually
enable support for your radio fairly quickly.
